Is AI making us dumber?

The question of whether AI is making us dumber is a hot topic. On one hand, AI makes life easier by handling tasks like searching for information, writing, and even thinking for us in some ways. We don’t have to memorize facts or do complex problem-solving as much because AI can do it instantly. This might make us rely on technology more and use our brains less, which could weaken critical thinking and problem-solving skills over time.

However, AI isn’t necessarily making us dumb—it’s changing how we think. Instead of memorizing things, we focus more on how to ask the right questions and analyze the information AI provides. This shift isn’t necessarily bad; it just means intelligence looks different now. We’ve seen this before—calculators didn’t make people bad at math; they just changed how math is done.

The real danger is if we stop thinking altogether and blindly trust AI without questioning its accuracy. If we use AI as a tool rather than a crutch, it can actually make us smarter by giving us more time to focus on creativity, problem-solving, and deeper thinking. So, AI isn’t making us dumb—it’s up to us how we use it.
