These structures are designed to provide protection in case of nuclear war, natural disasters, or other national emergencies.

Another well-known site is Mount Weather, a federal emergency operations center in Virginia. However, claims of vast underground cities housing entire populations or secret deep underground networks remain largely unproven. While some conspiracy theories suggest the existence of hidden underground civilizations or elite shelters for world leaders, there is no solid evidence supporting such large-scale secret projects.
